I use sugar as a metaphor for the ephemeral nature and psychological ordering of life, employing strategies such as the grid and repetition to reflect inner and outer tendencies to order that which can never be purely ordered.  Through material and compositional choices, I put these notions into play with entropy, creating an art that questions the idea of permanence and heightens the concept of ephemerality.
